Adam Jones set to miss Wales’ Six Nations campaign

Adam Jones has been ruled out of the RBS Six Nations after picking up an elbow injury against London Irish at the weekend.

Jones has damaged ligaments in his elbow and could be out for some time by all accounts.

It’s another blow to Wales’ prospects, particularly with Gethin Jenkins also ruled out, and it’s certainly a bigger loss than Gavin Henson!

How do you fancy Wales’ chances in the Six Nations? How will their team look when they take on England in the opening fixture?

  1. What does it say of Gatland’s forward planning and/or the depth in Wales that they have no obvious second choice tighthead?

  2. Obviously losing a very good player is a blow, but the lack of depth at tight-head in Welsh rugby means Jones’s absence is massive one.

Ospreys’ Craig Mitchell and Ben Broster at Wasps’ are the only other number threes of a decent enough standard, I can think of off the top of my head.
