  1. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

    Albert Einstein

Feel very sorry for O’Connor, he’s not even the best 10 in the starting XV.

    1. Ha, prob not even second best with Leali’ifano and Beale in front of him. Possibly Genia too making him 4th best

    2. I don’t feel sorry for him – he’s one of those players who doesn’t realise where his strongest position is. Like (to mention footie for a 2nd) Theo Walcott.

  2. Pleased for the Lions that JOC is starting at 10, as I thought that he was a bit out of his depth there last week (bit like Hogg for the Lions really!). Although that will inevitably mean he will now have a stormer!

    1. Good decision.

Only a drunk staggering home from the pub can claim he’s trying to stabilise himself when falling to the right by bringing his right leg down to the left of his centre of gravity.

    2. its a great thing for the IRB to do. the real shame i that he will be around for the 2nd test, all decisions made after the test.

if the decision is reversed, it could mean the difference between a won or lost series (he is very influential) for the lions. i hope for the sake of the game that the lions secure the win this weekend, meaning there is no major controversy clouding the series.

  3. joc at 10 BIG call from deans could be very bad for him if this doent work and the lions win the 2nd test he will surly be under pressure. Understand why he might stick with joc and back him hes a young guy and need to know his coach is behind him. Should never put him there in the 1st place. Expect if things dont go well in the 1st 15mins himself and beale will be swoping and joc will be taking a confidence blow only way this can end well is if o connor plays well. I hope he does and makes a real game out of it be a shame to win because of a mistake or bad play from som1 lets hope both teams play well and the winner wins fair and square. Come on the lions

  4. ‘ Australia head coach Robbie Deans will name his captain in the squad for Saturday’s Test, having been part of the initial disciplinary process which cleared the 28-year-old of misconduct.

“I have had a lot of experience of these processes,” said Deans. “I was part of this one and privy to that, but I can’t discuss it publically.

“We were satisfied with the process, we felt it was just and fair. As a result, James is available this week.”

You couldn’t make it up :(

    1. Not content with cheating at the breakdown and cheating in the scrum the Aussies are now resorting to cheating in the disciplinary hearings :-)

  5. Still don’t understand this selection, surely at tight head when Corbisiero got injured you’d want to put on your strongest scrummager i.e Kepu? and surely it makes more sense after last week playing Lealiifano at 10 and playing O’Connor at 12? I think Hooper is very good but for a match of this stature I would’ve gone for George Smith, he is the strongest breakdown 7 they have available.
