As you would expect, we are very excited here at The Rugby Blog about the new international season, despite mixed emotions. Concern at all the injuries, anticipation that we could see some talent emerging, dread that England might lose all three matches, fear that Johnno could be on the wrong end of criticism, delight that any Twickenham occasion is a good one…the list goes on, but rest assured that we’ll be here every step of the way.
For each England international, we’ll be bringing you live updates (from Twickenham hopefully), so you can follow the action all the way. We’ll use a service called Cover It Live, which brings you real-time updates without refreshing the page, and it enables you to leave your comments and opinions during the game – we hope you do, just to reassure us that there are people out there!
You’ll see the box below on the left hand side, so enter your email and you’ll get a reminder to take a look at the site just before kick off.
Live audio reports
Nick Heath, our Podcast producer extraordinaire, will be at Twickenham to record a brief live update at half-time and full-time enabling you to sample the atmosphere and find out about the mood in the stands – we haven’t tried this before, but technological gods willing, you’ll be able to tune in here on Saturday.
Every Monday morning, we’ll have a summary of all the matches that have taken place that weekend, so that’s where you can leave your own thoughts and opinions, and respond to those of others as well.
We’ll try and spread our other coverage across the other home nations, but we are fairly England-biased as you might already know – the Monday morning report though will definitely feature other countries though, so this is your chance to discuss which Welsh player has the best tan!
Nick will also be conducting exclusive post-match interviews with players as they emerge from the battlefield, and we’ll bring you the usual dose of audio content every Thursday morning. Subscribe via iTunes if you haven’t already, and you should get the latest episode delivered to your iPod every week.
These always seem to spark a healthy discussion, particularly as we all tend to know better than the national selectors, and we’ll endeavour to bring you this news as soon as it’s released. We’re generally a bit quicker than the BBC, so come to The Rugby Blog first and have your say.
If you’ve somehow missed the various plugs, here’s another one. We’re running a free prediction league on SportGuru where you can win some trendy Front Up stash and a signed copy of Dallaglio’s latest book – get involved at www.sportguru.co.uk/therugbyblog if you haven’t already.
That’s all for now – enjoy the Autumn Internationals and keep up the comments on the site.
