  1. Jenkins on the bench? Only two things I would change, Williams and Jenkins on. Otherwise Howler has done something right for a change

  2. Interesting changes. Good for Wales. Jenkins has hardly been outstanding recently but I thought he would keep his place. Other than that it is the changes everyone was asking for!

  3. Now that is more like the side Howley should have picked last weekend .

Biggar and Tipuric have been a couple of the relatively few in form players for the regions .Tipuric not only has been banging on the door but has kicked it down even his 5 to 10 minute cameo last weekend made a difference.

I felt there was a bit of arrogance in the selection for Argentina for instance giving Knoyle a start basically for game time because Phillips isn’t available against Australia when Argentina were coming off a creditable first season in the Rugby Championship seemed to underestimate the opposition.

One can imagine the phone call Howley took from Gatland post defeat along the lines of pull your finger out I’ve got them the next two weekends.

  4. Looks a better selection. Pick your team first and your captain from those in the team. Tipuric starts – something even the neutrals have been hoping for!

  5. glad to see Hibbard get a shot, hes picked up a few MOMs for ospreys this year. Im hopeful for the teamm but cant see the point of having Priestland over Hook on the bench.

The team is only half the story, are they going to stick with the highball tactics? I hope there will be more ball retention and phase building

    1. Unfortunately i think Howley will go for more of the same, but i hope i am wrong – please let me be wrong

  6. good team selection apart from James Hook, who should always be on the sheet. Wales had a poor first game, as always in the autumn, but Argentina are now a class side. shame for Sam but he was just not there on Saturday. great to have Ryan, Mike and Jamie playing , hopefully this will bring more intelligent play. Big mistake to leave out JH. All this stuff about picking from Wales based players is fine if they are here but if they are not you have pick the in form and star players from where ever. most of the guys gain a lot from playing in France anyway.

  7. A good team, rightfully dropping last weeks poor performers. Beck should help stop the sideways crabbing. I thought Jenkins looked woefully unfit last week so I understand him being dropped – not playing in France isn’t doing him any favours.

  8. Looks like a very good selection. Half backs a big improvement, same for the back row. Ryan Jones is a natural leader from the front.

  9. Predictable, Howley has succumbed to the pressure of the press – Priestland and SW on the bench – they both needed to be dropped. Hooky a great utility back not even on the bench – come on Howley grow some balls and give us a positive game plan.

  10. you see this welsh squad, and your thinking “a class team”. You would be right when the welsh squad is in the mood they are unbeatable, they have spirit and support behind them. Its great the WRU dont put on predictable changes and lets the new lads have a go, They are going to be trained and also will have a hell of a experience! So i Am pretty happy with this squad, however Hook should be in, he will really control the game. Next match will be a real contest

  11. We need an inspirational, imaginative and athletic fly half. Priestland is a kicker, Dan Biggar much improved as he is, lacks flair, the only one who shows a hint of magic is James Hook. They love him in Perpignon.

  12. Ashley Beck should not replace Scott Williams he should replace Jamie Roberts instead two changes in the front row is hopeless Gethin Jenkins and Ken Owens should play instead
