So many upsets in the Premiership last weekend – London Irish beating Worcester to give themselves a glimmer of hope, Tigers winning at Saracens and Wasps drawing with Gloucester.

Here are my Aviva Premiership predictions for Round 17, with some tough picks and a chance of some match postponements.

Harlequins v Bath
It’s four defeats on the trot for Quins in 2018 as they slip further and further down the table. Bath have been going the other way, but they only just beat Sale at home last weekend and don’t look too convincing away from home. They also have several players missing, and so I’m giving Quins one more chance. Quins by 2

Exeter v Saracens
Beaten at home by Leicester last weekend, Sarries surrendered top spot in the league to their opponents this weekend. They haven’t beaten the Chiefs in their last three meetings, and I’m picking the home team this time too. Exeter by 4

Northampton v Sale
The Sharks very nearly won at Bath last weekend, whilst the Saints were close to an upset in Exeter, both sides losing by just a point. Northampton has won the last two matches at Franklin’s Gardens, and the home team is the safer pick here. Northampton by 6

Gloucester v Newcastle
The Falcons are flying again and sit fourth in the table, level on points with Bath and Gloucester just behind them. This will be a tough trip to Kingsholm, where Gloucester has not been beaten so far this season, and the stakes are very high. Gloucester by 3

Worcester v Leicester
A defeat to London Irish last week means that Worcester are not quite out of the woods, and now have to play a Leicester team that won at Saracens last weekend. I’m backing the Tigers as they look to get back into the top six. Leicester by 9

Wasps v London Irish
It’s a slight shame that the Exiles don’t have a kinder fixture as they try to back up their win over Worcester last week. I can’t see them winning in Coventry, and they are running out of time. Wasps by 13

Bets
My treble on Leovegas last week was scuppered by Saracens losing at home. I’m on another treble this weekend:
– Bath -1.5 (emotional hedge), Leicester -3.5 and Wasps to win – combined odds of 4.19!
