  1. I’d say Ashton for player of the season (begrudgingly)
    Sharples for Discovery
Rob Baxter for director of Rugby
    Schalk Britz for Try
and I don’t remember those games in particular for the last section so I won’t choose.

  2. Also interesting to note that the panel made special reference to Eliota Fuimaono-Sapulo and Tom Johnson who were very close to the nominations.

I think the list’s a bit off though, I’d probably have a list looking more like Schalk Brits, Brian Mujati, Anthony Allen, Chris Robshaw and Lee Dickson.

Ashton’s only played in about half of all the Premiership games this season, its fair enough to say he’s played well throghout the year with England as well but the key is that this is the Premiership player of the year!

Anyway enough of my moaning..I’d probably go for Brits. I think people take his explosive running for granted now, but he’s still very good at it and has tightened up other aspects of his game which used to suffer a bit.

Discovery of the year I’ll go for Owen Farrell. Came from nowhere to take the Sarries fly half shirt at such a young age and has looked calm and assured throughout. It would be brilliant for him to lead Sarries out in the Premiership final only a year after leaving school.

Coach of the year? Easy. Rob Baxter.

Try of the year to Manu Tuilagi. To do that against Saracens from a standing start is quite exceptional.

  3. I would say Brits for player of the season, although Woods was in with a shout, Sharples for the discovery, Baxter for director, best try goes to Ashton and i cant really remember those matches much either so not sure.

  4. I would definitely say Brits. I think @Tom is right, his skills have been taken for granted now, but I think he actually had a better season than he had last season! GO BRITS.

Owen Farell for Discovery of the year.
