MasterCard competition winner Ben Fenner (pictured holding the trophy), a teacher from Somerset, will spend a week living, eating and training with the all-star squad, including Martyn Williams and Matt Giteau, as the 23rd member of the Barbarians squad for The MasterCard Trophy.
25-year-old Ben said, “The whole thing is like a dream come true. I can’t believe that I’ll be part of one of the greatest teams in the World and will get to meet some of the legends of the game.”
Ben will join up with the team at their 5* central London hotel on the 29th November as they begin preparations to take on World Champions South Africa at Twickenham.
MasterCard Ambassador and former Barbarian Will Greenwood said, “Playing for the BaaBaas was one of the highlights of my career. This really is a money-can’t-buy opportunity and something that will stay with Ben for the rest of his life.”
Gill Barr, Head of Marketing, MasterCard UK & Ireland, added, “Through our match sponsorship with the Barbarians, The MasterCard Trophy, we’ve been able to reward cardholders with truly priceless experiences, including becoming the 23rd Barbarian, being official matchday mascots and receiving free matchday upgrades to VIP hospitality.”
