Leading rugby and music festival RugbyRocks 7s is to return on the 4th and 5th of June 2011. This time it will be bigger and better spanning a full weekend with more tournaments, entertainment and new sports.
Earlier this summer Samurai defeated Esher RFC in the final of the inaugural tournament of National Sevens Series at RugbyRocks, while Kamikaze took home the RugbyRocks Men’s Open and Wooden Spoons prevailed in the ScrumQueen.com Women’s Open.
Following the action Feeder, The Parlotones, Just Jack, Alex Gardner, NIXA and Tom Carty took to the zavvi.com Festival Stage. The RugbyRocks team are already in discussions with bands to bring a great line-up in 2011, so look out for announcements in coming months.
NEW IN 2011
Two venues: RugbyRocks will once again be hosted at the Richmond Athletic Ground but in 2011 the Festival is expanding to Old Deer Park bringing you more tournaments and more teams.
Social Sunday: Dust off the hangover and head to RugbyRocks’ Social Sunday on 12 June 2011. On Sunday we’ll be hosting Men’s and Women’s Social Sevens, Touch Rugby and Volleyball. There will be plenty of bacon butties to go around for those suffering from the night before…and plenty of beer for those who prefer the ‘hair of the dog’!
New sports: A women’s netball tournament will take place on Old Deer Park – 20 teams will battle it out to become our inaugural netball champs. Sign up on the day to play in our volleyball tournament located in the Festival Village. Nothing serious so show off until your heart’s content… just remember – you’re not actually in Top Gun!
Tickets will go on sale to the general public in coming months, but teams can enter now by contacting email@example.com for entry forms. Enter before 1st December 2010 to receive an earlybird team entry discount (£120 team entry fee, usual price £140).
