Defeat at Leeds confirms Worcester relegation

Leeds Carnegie beat Worcester Warriors this afternoon to confirm their relegation from the Guinness Premiership.

Four penalties from Ceiron Thomas were enough to take the 4 league points in a 12-10 win and end Worcester’s six-year stay in rugby’s top flight.

The writing was on the wall after Leeds’ surprise victory at London Irish last week, but a win at Headingley would have given the Warriors a fighting chance of staying up. Hats off to Neil Back and everyone at Leeds for achieving their goal of staying up.
