When he broke Rob Hawkins’ arm after the referee’s whistle, Calum Clarke was responsible for the most sickening act of foul play that I’ve even seen on a rugby field. He should have been banned for life and possibly jailed. Instead, England selected him for representational rugby at the earliest opportunity and are now glossing over the past and presenting him as all-round good bloke. His inclusion in the England squad shows a real lack of moral leadership and his needless appearance in promotional videos such as these show a serious lack of judgement. Sort it out England – you’re sending out precisely the wrong message!
