France name squad for tour to Argentina

Philippe Saint-André has named nine new caps in his France squad to tour Argentina next month. Amongst the selections is a recall for Sharks fly-half Frederic Michalak. Pascal Papé will captain the side with Thierry Dusautoir rested for the tour.

They will face the Pumas in two tests, on June 16th in Cordoba and on June 23rd in Tucuman.

  1. Good luck to Argentina trying to handle Fofana and Doumayrou etc.! France traditionally struggle against Argentina in tests but I don’t see it this time around.

  2. I think both France and certainly Argentina since their RWC 2007 3rd place position have weakened substantially.

    Will be interesting to see who wins this, but with the Pumas at home I think they will edge it.

  3. France will be out to make amends for their 6N’s performance, so i’m expecting France to win comfortably. That said, their are some key and significant names missing from the squad (Dusautoir, Servat, Harinordoquy, Rougerie – just to name a few), which may or may not have a negative impact on this squad.
