Get behind England in the Rugby World Cup Final

England’s Women will play in the Rugby World Cup Final this evening at the Twickenham Stoop, where the Black Ferns of New Zealand stand in their way.

Number 8 Catherine Spencer will lead her charges in their attempt to wrestle the World Cup title away from New Zealand, who will start the match as marginal favourites.

Both England and New Zealand have been the standout performers in what has been a magnificent tournament, with matches played with no less intensity than those of a male variety. England’s performances have been marked by their almost impenetrable defence, with just 10 points conceded along the route to the final.

But the Black Ferns have been no less impressive, ominously brushing their opponents aside on their inevitable march to the final at The Stoop. There’s no question that tonight’s game will be an epic encounter with nothing held back by either side, and that should make it equally enjoyable for both neutral and partisan supporters alike.

However, sod neutrality. Don’t sit on the fence – back the home side, the slight underdogs and thoroughly deserving champions in waiting. Cheer every lineout steal from lock Jo McGilchrist, every pass from fly-half Katy McLean and every juddering hit from flanker Maggie Alphonsi.

There are still tickets available, so get down there if you can, or tune in to Sky Sports for kick off at 5pm.
