The brewers of GUINNESS have set aside Irish pride to celebrate home nation success by allowing fans to personalise their pint with their national emblem. As an official partner of the home unions, the beer brand is launching a special edition patriotic pint-head stencil to allow fans to enjoy a pint of the black stuff whilst staying loyal to their national team.
The stencils in the shape of the Welsh Dragon, England Rose* and Irish Rugby emblem** (see attached) are being sent to New Zealand to be distributed by the GUINNESS brand’s fan-on-the-ground, our very own James Hutchison. He will be handing out the stencils to barmen and supporters ahead of Saturday’s matches and sharing the quirky pint topping with fans across the North Island.
Hutch said; “The atmosphere out here is electric with Welsh, English and Irish fans really showing the other supporters how to get behind their nation. From face-painting, wigs and team shirts, fans are going all out to show their support, this patriotic pint will be the perfect start to Saturday’s games. ”
Isabelle Maratier, Senior Brand Manager at Diageo said; “GUINNESS has a longstanding heritage in rugby and a great relationship with fans. This is the perfect opportunity for us to show our support of the home unions and give fans the chance to show their loyalty as the three home unions play for their national pride on Saturday!”
