  1. Good to see new players coming through, especially from Connacht. Delighted to see Luke Fitzgerald coming back, think it’s a shame that O’Driscoll is not captain.

    1. It’s good to see young blood coming through – about time, good opportunity to try a new captain as BOD won’t be around forever Claire

  2. Amathus, I know BOD won’t be around forever, but I really believe that this could be his last year, and gives him a chance to bow out on a high. Agreed, he could have kept his disappointment to himself and not make it so public.
We’ll be expecting big performances with this campaign, I think Cardiff will be a huge test, and Ireland should capitalise on the fact Wales have so many injuries. There are Lions places to be fought for!!!

    1. BOD will bow out on a high regardless, a complete ambassador for the game in Ireland and the world of rugby. Being Welsh i hope and expect a cracking game Claire – would not count out BOD being the Lions captain – no higher accolade then that to bow out to – and deserves every second.

  3. really looking forward to the 6 nations my team would be
    1 Healy, 2 Best, 3 Ross
    4 Ryan, 5 McCarthy
    6 O’Brien, 8 Heaslip, 7 Henry
    9 Marshal, 10,Sexton
    11 Fitz, 12 Darcy, 13 Bod, 14 Gilroy
    15, Kearney

    16 Strauss, 17 Court, 18 Fitzpatrick, 19 Henderson, 20 O’Mahony, 21 Murray, 22 Madigan, 23 Earls

Harsh on Zebo, Mc fadden, Reddan, DOC, and Trimble but best team in my opinion.

    1. Rick you are definitely being harsh on Zebo. I think after today’s performance, he, Gilroy and Kearney will make up a very exciting back 3.
I also think murray should start ahead of marshall with reddan on the bench. I know marshall put in some excellent performances at the start of the season, but his lack of game time and some recent poor performances has seen him drop back down the pecking order. My starting team would be
      1.Healey 2.Best 3.Ross
      4.ryan 5.Mccarthy
      6.O mahoney 7.henry 8.heaslip
      9.Murray 10.sexton
      11.Gilroy 12. darcy (marshall injured…) 13.Bod 14.Zebo
      15.Kearney

      16.strauss 17.court 18.bent
      19.Henderson 20. SOB 21.Madigan 22. Reddan 23.Earls

      1. Zebo’s lack of physicality, at ruck time and when caught behind gain line is why i wouldn’t pick him! he has improved massively with his field positioning for fielding kicks. he scored 3 tries today but against 14 men for 75 minute but u can only play whats infront of you. reddan isn’t going to make it to next world cup and marshal could be a bigger game changer off the bench. can’t find it in myself to leave SOB off the starting team same with bod even tho thought earls preformed well in the november series as did o’mahony. luke marshal wouldn’t get the start for me just yet has even less game time than paul marshal.

        1. I fully take on board your comment about Reddan and I think Marshall is a great sub. Putting him on with 20 mins left could be brilliant. In terms of leaving out SOB, having watched all three provences this year very regularly, Peter O mahoney for me has been superb (one of a select few in Munster). Easily one of the top performers in Europe. Its a very nice problem to have at 6 though (not to mention Ferris returning as well).

Again Zebo could be an excellent sub (with Luke starting) but he will start.
