Now that the rugby season is underway and that the excitement of on-field action is taking precedence over the off-field drama, we are getting excited about what is coming up this year.
The Heineken Cup starts in early October with some incredible fixtures to look forward to. European away days offer some of the best rugby fun to be had, and there are some tempting away trips, such as Gloucester in Biarritz, London Irish in Dublin, Edinburgh in Paris, Munster in Perpignan etc etc.
The Autumn Internationals will be starting before you know it, with some brilliant fixtures to look forward to. England play Australia and Wales play New Zealand on November 7th, and there’s non-stop action for the rest of the month involving South Africa, Argentina, the All Blacks as well as all the home nations.
The new year will of course bring the Six Nations 2010, and England have three Away trips on offer. Gullivers Sports Travel are offering some tempting Six Nation packages for England fans for trips to Rome, Edinburgh and Paris.
Also visit Gullivers website for packages to the Hong Kong Sevens at the end of March. This is something I have never done, but that I rarely stop hearing about from other members of The Rugby Blog team – click here to read their report from last year.
Following the various domestic rugby finals, and the Heineken Cup finale in Paris, there are the summer tours. England are off to Australia in 2010 and Wales are visiting New Zealand – hopefully both sides will be able to take a strong team after a successful season in the North!
The rugby is coming thick and fast this year, so fasten your seatbelts and get ready to follow it all on The Rugby Blog.
