Magners League Predictions 2010/11: Round 18

I find the Magners League extremely difficult to predict at this time of year, with internationals missing and second string sides in action.

Nevertheless, here are my best efforts for this weekend’s games, and they seem to reflect my views on the Scottish and Italian national sides at the moment – I can’t see any of their club sides winning.

Let me know if you think these are fair, or whether they are wide of the mark:

Connacht Rugby v Benetton Treviso: Connacht Rugby by 13
Ulster v Aironi Rugby: Ulster by 23
Edinburgh v Cardiff Blues: Cardiff Blues by 8
Leinster v Scarlets: Leinster by 11
Ospreys v Glasgow Warriors: Ospreys by 13
Munster v Gwent Dragons: Munster by 9

  1. I’d agree with all of that other than I think Treviso and Connacht might be closer. Still going for for a Connacht win but I think it’ll be close. Also I think Ulster might walk over Aironi by more points than that.

Also due to International call ups I think the Scarlets might even be able to snatch a win at Leinster. Looking forward to watching them try (George North especially).

As is usual at this time of year the Ospreys have finally woken up and made it to the top four. I think they’ll comfortably stay there now as well. At home they should really beat Glasgow by more points than this. They are one of the few Welsh teams with plenty of depth during international periods. Richard Fussell is playing especially well I think. Shame about Dan Biggar. I really dont think he’s all he’s cracked up to be.
