O2 Irish Wolfhounds team to face England Saxons

Ulster Back row Chris Henry will lead the O2 Ireland Wolfhounds in their game against the England Saxons this Saturday in Exeter. The side shows a balance between youth and experience, with nine of the match day 22 uncapped at senior level.

  1. Henry has to make the 22 for the six nations. keatley and touhy are the only other major contenders for me in the squad darren caves injury was a big blow for the 13 green shirt and fitzy should get a call up even tho still injured for this match

  2. Impressive looking team. Really looking forward to seeing the backline in action as it will be a good pointer to the future backline. Will be interesting to see how Rhys Ruddock plays with an experienced back row. Would like to have seen Devin Toner instead of Mike McCarthy. Only area of concern is the front row where our props may find it hard going but Stephen Archer will benefit big time from this experience.

    From this 22 only Isaac Boss could really have felt he could break into the matchday 22 for Wales. Players like Varley, Toner, Touhy and O Malley would be worth considering but right now are not in Kidney’s thinking.

  3. dont you mean the matchday 22 for ireland? I can see the pack majorly struggling to cope with the saxons set piece. It should be an excellent little warm up before the six nations!
