Poll: Who will win the Heineken Cup 2010/11?

A relatively straightforward poll this week, but we’re interested in everyone’s predictions of who will lift the trophy in May.

A few of the usual suspects are either underperforming (Leicester, Leinster, Biarritz) or missing entirely (Stade Francais), so could we get a surprise winner, or is it now between Toulouse and Munster?

Make your selection and then leave a comment below with your rationale.

  1. Looking across that list it makes me realise there is nothing to fear in this HEC. There are some impressive early performances this season – London Irish, Cardiff Blues, Toulose and Racing Metro – but all have them have looked beatable as well.

I think a lot of teams are going to be looking at this as being rather winnable

  2. I would agree – Toulouse the favourites, but any one of Leicester, Irish, Sarries, Saints, Bath, Ospreys, Cardiff, Leinster, Munster, Clermont or Toulon could feasibly win it I reckon.

We’ll know a lot more after Round 1 because there are some very tough pools and an early defeat could be critical.

  3. I’d love it if Saints do go on to lift the Heineken Cup, but from what I’ve seen of them so far in the Premiership they’ve got some big problems still to sort out – namely the age old problem at number 10.

I agree with you Hutch in that round one will tell us a lot. I can’t wait to see what happens in pool 3 with London Irish, Munster, Ospreys and Toulon. Any one of those four have a good shout of winning the tournament so it will be great to see how it pans out – as a neutral!

  4. London irish off to a great start beating Munster it was a great game to be at. if irish carry on like that they are in with a great chance of winning the cup.
