Zzzz Zzzz
Absolutely dire. No positive intent from either team.
Well that was p1ss poor. Wales at near full strength and so settled at home should be better than this against a French side that never looked like scoring.
Thought Barnes was very poor. Couldnt believe how lenient he was to Wales, when they kept penalising in there own 22.
The state of referring is so poor, the Welsh got penalties for offences that later on the Ref played on?
Wh can’t we have refs who do not favour the home side and less attention when a good tackle is made even the the guy running full tilt goes over the top of the tackler and goes off his feet. Surely the law of of force and momentum tells you the tackled guy will fall over. These silly interpretations are ruining the game.
This is a game for fit strong athletes.
Awful. Just awful.
Gatland said he thought it was a brilliant match, and he was being serious?
I suppose there are probably some positives to pull out of the Welsh defence but my magnifying glass isn’t strong enough to highlight exactly what. It was a very boring game.
Caught up on some sleep. Like watching Lancaster’s finest in the rugby World Cup.
Shite. It’s so obvious the message from the coaches was “kick everything” that we butchered how many overlaps from not passing?
As a man who remembers the 90’s the only solace I can take from that is that Wales can play shit and win.
I’m not expecting fireworks from the rest of the matches this weekend to be honest, but they’d be hard pressed to be worse than this.
Literally fell asleep watching
Wayne Barnes is an absolute joke. How many penalties against Wales no yellow
3 tries held up and he was in perfect lotion for them all with no doubt
Wayne Barnes in perfect lotion was he Calvin? What particular lotion was that? Dove moisturiser for daft refs? Seriously, I was very disappointed with him on Friday, because I do rate him normally. But he was, if anything too relaxed, grinning at players (in a slightly alarming way) and even trying a bit of wisecracking, which is probably better left to young Nige.
have to agree, there were 2 piss poor sides not helped by a piss poor ref, why the f*** he did’nt let scrums go when the ball was coming out , collapse or not, just let it go, if it persists send off 1 from both sides , 12 v 12 would have opened it up !, worst game i can remember in the 6n, maybe ever! , it seems the pitches are too small nower days , only seems to happen in the N Hem though, no idea why .from a so-so game v scotland this was an advert for why not to follow rugby, AWFUL.
I guess the positive is france never even threatened to win, but the backs outside of roberts are trying so hard bless them, but without any playmakers they’re just gonna keep playing off scraps.
Tedious. Sterling defence. Too narrow in attack. JD is just kicking and kicking. Butchered two tries by keeping it tight. TMOs interfering with daft ones. France one decent outside back but he’s too far back to do anything interesting. Williams obsessed with cutting in. North very lucky to score his try. Davies motm was ridiculous as his slow service is a problem now, not the level he was at in World Cup. 6/10 as it is a long winning streak against the French and I’m old enough to remember when that was a rarity.
A few marks less for Fri night international rugby. Awful idea.
Apparently George North pissed in everyone’s cornflakes at breakfast yesterday morning and that’s why they all refused to let him have the ball for the first hour.
Barnesy seemed so keen to teach everyone how to scrummage I thought he was going to pull on a team shirt and pack down at one point.
I feel he should have given a penalty try after so many Welsh infringements right in front of their try line.
Poor Jiffy Davies in commentary. It’s on! – oh they’ve kicked it away, it’s on! -oh they’ve kicked it away, it’s on! -oh, etc… Got to feel for the bloke. May be a while since those halcyon days of Welsh creativity, but I still find it odd watching a Wales rugby team not spinning it wide and having a run.
Haha! Spot on re Barnes – bloody hell – 2 and a half minutes to reset the scrum – he was after perfection – for gawd’s sake just get on with it!! I was an echo chamber of Jiffy – the Davies’ J and G both guilty of kicking it away; JD the worst offender, repeating what he did against Scotland twice. He was lucky that one of his kicks miraculously found its way to George’s feet…. Duh.
Terrible game; neither team up to much; but don’t worry, Wales will be very different at Twickenham. Yes, very different……..From and England point of view, I hope they look after Billy V in training, because there’s little else. Still rates an improvement on their World Cup though.
Best bit of game was on TV when Brian Moore took the P*** out of Jonathon Davies, apart from that the adverts were more entertaining than the rugby
This problem started in the 1990’s when England developed this Rugby League style attack and defence. Wales have now taken it to extremes. Compare today’s games to a video from the 70’s or 80’s and see the difference. There is no space now. The only answer is either to increase the width of the pitch or reduce the number of players. Unless something is done the glorious running rugby we used to see is gone forever.
