RBS 6 Nations 2011: Scotland team to play Ireland

Andy Robinson has made a raft of changes to his side ahead of their fixture with Ireland on Sunday.

Ruaridh Jackson is selected at fly-half and will make his first start for Scotland, whilst Sean Lamont, Chris Paterson, Mike Blair, Moray Low, Richie Gray and Johnnie Beattie are also named.

  1. Why has Jackson been picked> Parks hasn’t been playing well but neither has Jackson for Glasgow. If he’s, fairly crudely, seen as a creative fly half, why do we have a winger at 12? I have a worrying feeling Lamont will get pulled out of position defensively.

    I don’t see what Walker is adding. Big man, fairly quick, but no awareness whatsoever. Combined with an apparent desire to jog into defenders rather than run at them and we have a suitably shit ‘white Lomu’. Danielli might be out of form, but what about Thompson of Edinburgh? He has been known to run at least. Even Simon Webster…
