The Rugby Blog is once again getting behind RBS RugbyForce, the grassroots initiative helping to improve the facilities of local rugby clubs.
Having received entries from more than 400 clubs in 2010, RBS RugbyForce was launched for the third successive season in November by RBS 6 Nations Championship sponsor The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS).
RBS RugbyForce offers clubs the opportunity to gather members, supporters, friends and family for fun-filled DIY during the RBS RugbyForce weekend, which will be taking place on June 11th and 12th. After the closing date for registration, which is on Friday 25th March 2011, RBS will be supplying registered clubs with online guidance and tools to help them co-ordinate a community-wide effort to give the club a ‘make-over’ in advance of the season ahead.
In addition, all registrations will be vetted by the RBS RugbyForce panel, consisting of rugby legends Ieuan Evans, Jason Leonard and Andy Nicol, members of the rugby media and RBS representatives. Four winning clubs, which successfully demonstrate themselves to be the most deserving entrants, will be chosen in April to receive an enhanced support package towards their RBS RugbyForce Weekend renovations in June.
Here is a showreel from the 2010 campaign which provides a clear understanding of what it’s all about:
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be featuring interviews with the RBS RugbyForce Ambassadors, various ticket competitions and generally reminding people to sign up.
In the meantime, please visit www.rbs.co.uk/rugbyforce to find out more, and to register your club.
