Wales have suffered a huge blow in their preparations for the Rugby World Cup in September. One of their best players in Ryan Jones has been ruled out of playing in the tournament due to a shoulder injury.
Jones was one of the standout players on the Lions Tour to New Zealand in 2005, and his absence will be a massive loss for the Welsh.
Coach Gareth Jenkins will now look towards his other back row forwards, Alix Popham, Michael Owen, Jonathan Thomas and veteran Colin Charvis. Unfortunately though, an error-prone player like Charvis is no substitute for the skilled and powerful Jones.
