  1. Parra, Fritz and Trinh-Duc on the bench

The best centre in the northern hemisphere still stuck on the wing. And this time with Bastareaud inside him, so his chances of seeing the ball have fallen to exactly zero.

    Sheer selectoral brilliance.

Are we sure that PSA is not just Lievremont wearing a very realistic mask??

  2. Agree its another strange selection. However I don’t really think selection was the main reason for that performance against Italy. It was largely the same team that did so well during the autumn. From now on I think its best to do what we always knew we should do with France, never look at the squad never discuss the team, never attempt to understand anything from across the channel. Just know that they might be the best team in the world or they might be the worst.

    1. That is probably the most well put summary of the French team I’ve ever seen.

Horrible selection all the same though. Where is Maxime Medard in all of this?

  3. Pablito and Nick Hill, between you you’ve nailed it. I’ve refused to admit for years that France are any good because you have to take the mean performance over time to judge a team. If half the time you are awesome and the other half you are dreadful then overall you are very average.

Particularly like the fact that probably the most insulting thing you can call a Frenchman is ‘average’ (other than impotent obviously).

  4. Arguably the best centre in Europe (after BOD) playing wing, with Michalak
and Machenaud still ahead of Trinh-Duc and Parra?
Just because they’re at home and have Rolland on their team doesn’t guarantee a win, don’t they remember England last year?
If Wales can play the entire game like they did the 2nd half against Ireland, I reckon they could clinch this by 2-3 points.
    Hopefully anyway.
