  1. Thought EJ might retain Williams and give Dan Cole, who looks exhausted, a rest, but I suppose with the strength of the Irish front row he wants a guaranteed anchor.

    1. Dan Cole is a problem. The English scrum has certainly improved of late, and he seems to be performing well in the tight.

However, he is not really a ball carrier, and he seems to be beaten at the clean out as he struggles with his height. Possibly due to his scrummaging exertions. This is a real problem.

  2. Slade dropped. Of the outsiders, I would’ve thought he would be most likely to come into the match-day squad. I cant see any changes in the back-line being made. Shame

  3. Shame Slade has been let go. Maybe he’s just lacking a bit of gametime.
If Daly doesnt make it, Brown to FB with Watson and May on the wings.
We might see Farrell given a run at 10. This would enable Te’o and JJ in the centre. We lose a distributor but increase our running options.
Up front, Hartley will come back if fit. That wont strengthen the side, but Eddie isnt going to ditch him just yet.
Armand is being looked at as an 8 so i can see him playing there with Robshaw and Simmonds on the flanks. 3 back row forwards playing in the back row is a distinct improvement.

    1. That could be a decent-ish back row, although I;’m sure Eddie would give his rught hand to have BV back!

      1. I’m hoping that is what we see! I’m more expecting Robshaw/Haskell with Simmonds at 8 however. Still, an improvement on previous selections.

  4. I would like to see more creative movement in the back line, perhaps a wrap round to create overlaps, instead of giving the ball back to the opposition with ill judged box kicks
Watson and May could be included to take advantage of open space created

  5. From this I would definitely like to see a back row of Robshaw, Simmonds and Armand. Haskell to come on for the last 20. Simmonds is quick and good at the breakdown so will add efficiency there as well as a willing ball carrier.

Could we see Launchbury and Kruis/Ewels with Itoje on the bench? Itoje is one player who really needs a break. Him, Mako and Cole have looked absolutely knackered and I would give Marler and Sinckler a start.

  6. Faz at ten with Daly and Teo in the middle. A nice blend of guile and grunt which should be the way forward imo. Does Brown come back in or do we stick with Watson?
Back row of Robshaw, Haskell and Armand as 6,7 and 8?
I feel for Williams. He’s nowhere near as dynamic as Sinckler but neither is Cole!
