South Africa team to face England on Saturday

Peter de Villiers has named his team to take on England at Twickenham on Saturday, looking to bounce back from their surprise defeat at the hands of the Scots.

After making only two changes since last weekend, de Villiers said, “This team has all the ability we need – but what we all know is that we have to execute more accurately than we did against Scotland.”

“That game is behind us now but we’ve looked hard at the lessons of it and know that we can’t allow let ourselves to make as many mistakes in our basic execution.”

South Africa:
Zane Kirchner
Gio Aplon
Francois Steyn
Jean De Villiers
Lwazi Mvovo
Morne Steyn
Ruan Pienaar

Pierre Spies
Juan Smith
Deon Stegmann

Tendai Mtawarira.

Replacements:

  1. Not wanting to get cocky or carried away, but this team doesn’t actually scare me. Seems to me like they’re going for brute and braun over flair and dynamism, and after our bruising battle with Samoa last weekend, I think we’ll hold firm and get a good victor

  2. England announcement is 12pm Thursday…we’ll try to have it here first as always.

This Bok side is beatable. Since losing to the Scots, they’ll all be thinking about going home at the end of a long season, and whilst they’ve got some good players, they haven’t exactly been playing well.
