South Africa team to play England in 1st Test

Heyneke Meyer has named his first side as Springbok coach, including 21-year old debutant Marcell Coetzee at openside flanker. Jean de Villiers will captain the side in the 1st Test against England in Durban on Saturday, with two other debutants in the side in Eben Etzebeth and former Northampton Saints lock Juandre Kruger.

  1. Kirchner above Lambie is ridiculous. Rest seems pretty solid. Good depth at wing but Loose forwards are a concern. Spies off form, Alberts just getting back to playing and Coetzeee, while an excellent prospect is a 21 year old debutant. Also no real fetcher (Alberts and Spies not really effective at ball winning). I would have gone with Brussouw and Coetzee with Alberts coming of the bench as an impact player.
