  1. Some big calls – having Habana and Pietersen on the wings when they’ve been at 13 all season seems crazy with Mvovo and Basson playing well. Also how Olivier made the bench is incredible.

    1. do we know who the likely England team will be? when do they announce?

i am over excited, this feels like more like a lions tour than a summer tour.

As leinster and brad thorn showed, your front row is only as good as your 4 &5. mike ross and healy were turned into a superb unit with thorn behind them.

Im not sure we can match them in the engine room and playing against SA that is basically going to lose you the set piece and therefore the match.

      am i being pessimistic?
      come on lads!

  2. That SA team is going to take some serious beating. England will have their work cut out, come on lads!

  3. And Glam Guru wynad olivier I mean you wanna tell me they are the best in SA. Maybe the best in pretoria

  4. Ruan Pienaar on the Bench??? are you all mad, the best scrum half/out half playing in the northern hemisphere this year and voted european player of the year by peers and sprots writers alike. hope your bench is made from some seriously heavy duty hardened steel!!! This man is worth his weight in gold. Staan Op Vir Die Ulstermanne

  5. Is Bekker injured? if not them I’m pretty shocked he hasn’t made the team. Also would have liked to have seen Lambie start, he is the future of SA rugby and he’s proven himself on every stage. A pretty conservative choice. Brilliant to see Keegan Daniel get a go even if it is on the bench. The guys skills sets are insane and there have been times where he has dragged the Sharks to victory. Still think it will be tough for England, but not as daunting a task as it might have been this time last year.

  6. @Ulsterfan – maybe best scrum half in northern hemisphere, but here in the south we have a guy called Francois Hougaard ;)

  7. @Cobus, theres no doubt Hougaard’s a brilliant player, but Pienaar has been so consistant all season for Ulster and his long range kicks under pressure are pretty much the reason we got to the heiniken cup final. just think as a utility player, he’d be a better starting choice who can move to 10 when Steyn goes off the boil, then Hougaard could come on and make a big impact. similar tactic has worked so well at Ulster over the past 2 seasons.just sayin :)

    1. worked so well they won the final……… he’s a good player but being on the bench prob because he isn’t playing in SA. as a scrum half he’s not all that too slow for my liking marshal a better scrum half but pienaar plays a half 9 half 10 role for ulster…. and about long kicks every SA seems to be able to do 60 meter kicks

  8. Marcell Coetzee has been rock solid for Sharks. Always willing to run and never misses his tackles. He was the one young player I wanted to see.

Lets see if he makes the grade at test level.

  9. Kirchner above Lambie is ridiculous. Rest seems pretty solid. Good depth at wing but Loose forwards are a concern. Spies off form, Alberts just getting back to playing and Coetzeee, while an excellent prospect is a 21 year old debutant. Also no real fetcher (Alberts and Spies not really effective at ball winning). I would have gone with Brussouw and Coetzee with Alberts coming of the bench as an impact player.

    1. Bismark Du Plessis can act in the fetcher role and don’t discount Coetzee because of his age.

  10. I think 90% of the bull players in the team is ridiculous for the first time in my live I support Engeland
