Super 14 Predictions: Round 4

My Super 14 record is still pretty reasonable, despite a couple of setbacks last week thanks to the Reds and the Stormers who let me down. Here are my Super 14 picks for Round 4.

The Chiefs are unbeaten and at home to the Reds, which makes the first one straightforward, whilst the Brumbies host the Lions who have yet to win a game.

Crusaders against the Blues is always a great New Zealand derby, and there’s not much between the sides, but I’ve gone for home advantage and for the Crusaders to continue their unbeaten home run.

The Sharks have been a huge disappointment so far this season, and they’ll have less luck on their tour of away matches, starting with a visit to the Waratahs. I’m keeping faith with the Stormers, who seem to have a hold over the Highlanders in recent seasons.

Finally, I’ve predicted the Hurricanes to win away at the Cheetahs – the Wellington side have yet to lose a game, and the Cheetahs are so inconsistent that it’s always risky to back them.

Game 22: Chiefs v Reds: Chiefs by 20
Game 23: Brumbies v Lions: Brumbies by 23
Game 24: Crusaders v Blues: Crusaders by 9
Game 25: Waratahs v Sharks: Waratahs by 13
Game 26: Stormers v Highlanders: Stormers by 5
Game 27: Cheetahs v Hurricanes: Hurricanes by 13
