As well as the opening Lions game, this weekend also sees the climax of the Super 14 competition as the Bulls take on the Chiefs.
The Chiefs play in their first ever final, and face a difficult trip to Pretoria, where the Bulls have won their last ten fixtures. It doesn’t help that they have been stricken by injury, with Sitiveni Sivivatu and Brendan Leonard having presented a sick note.
The Bulls are strong favourites, and with 12 of their players remaining from their 2007 triumph, they have the experience as well.
It’s likely to be a tense affair, as most finals are, but I’ve predicted the Bulls to take it at Loftus Versfeld by 6 points.
