Super Rugby Predictions 2011: Round 13

It was a mixed bag of results last weekend, let down by the Highlanders yet again, but I’ve got green arrows next to my scores in SuperBru, so I’m still moving up the table around the Top 10% mark.

This week throws up another couple of tricky picks, and the first three games of the weekend will determine if it’s a success or failure.

The Highlanders can’t lose at home to the Hurricanes, can they? I’m sticking with the Otago boys for this one, and they really ought to come through based on this season’s form and with home advantage, and despite being my bogey team this year.

In the battle of the teams with the simplest names, I’m leaning towards the home side – both the Reds and the Blues have been playing well, with just two defeats apiece, but the Queenslanders have been winning emphatically and hopefully they’ll come through again this week.

The Chiefs cost me points last weekend by beating the Highlanders, whilst I backed the Stormers and they lost. I’m going with the Stormers again this time on the basis of their more consistent form, but this game marks the start of their away tour and we’ve yet to really see how well they travel. Hopefully well.

In the other games, the Brumbies have a good opportunity to get back to winning ways, whilst I’d expect the Bulls and the Crusaders to win their matches as well.

Here are my Super Rugby predictions for Round 13 – let me know what you think:

Highlanders v Hurricanes: Highlanders by 8
Reds v Blues: Reds by 5
Chiefs v Stormers: Stormers by 6
Brumbies v Lions: Brumbies by 13
Bulls v Rebels: Bulls by 23
Cheetahs v Crusaders: Crusaders by 13

188BET188BET of the week: Crusaders to beat the Cheetahs

  1. Agreed, except for the first game. The Canes have Nonu, Smith and Weepu back and the Highlanders are struggeling with injuries (the injury to Adam Thompson is a big blow). Notwithstanding the aforesaid, the Canes have dissapointed me time and again so you never know…

  2. I agree with Wehan. Hurricanes will win. Weepus return will give the team some character, plus there will be some fire because of last weeks unfortunate loss to the Blues where they could have won in the final minute.

I think Blues will beat Reds, Blues backline too strong.

    Agree with the others.
