Super Rugby Predictions 2012: Round 12

Can the Blues and the Lions pick up a rare win in Round 12? Quite possibly as they are playing each other. Here’s all the advice you need for this week’s SportGuru picks:

Starting with the basement battle in Auckland, the Blues might be playing for pride but the Lions could be playing for their future. Injuries have ruined their season so far and it hasn’t got better in recent weeks. That being said, the Blues defence has been so abysmal that any attacking side stands a good chance. Lions by 5

Friday’s other match sees the Waratahs host the Bulls in Sydney. Now nine points off the lead in the Australia Conference, the ‘Tahs need to get winning and fast if they’ll be competing in the playoffs. The Bulls were sloppy last week against the Rebels but will tighten up this week to add another win on tour. Bulls by 9

We get going on Saturday morning with the Highlanders hosting the Hurricanes. Both have done far better this season than predicted, but home advantage should tell in this one. Highlanders by 7

It doesn’t get any easier for the Rebels with the visit of the Crusaders at AAMI Park. Kurtley Beale was a revelation at flyhalf last weekend but the Crusaders’ form is too strong right now, making a third win of the season for the Rebels seem unlikely. Crusaders by 13

We then cross the Indian Ocean to Durban for the Sharks against the Western Force, in what should be a relatively simple win for the home side who are gradually beginning to get back their injured stars. Sharks by 10

The Stormers are then back in action after their bye week, hosting the Cheetahs at Newlands. With the Bulls overtaking the Stormers during their week off to lead the South African Conference, the home side will be hungry to reclaim their spot at the top with a big win at home. Stormers by 13

Last but not least, the Reds are in action at home against the table-topping Chiefs. The hosts were in good form last weekend in Christchurch but the Chiefs are unstoppable at the moment, making it foolish to pick against them. Chiefs by 8

That’s all for this week, best of luck with all your SportGuru picks and see you ahead of Round 13.

  1. I’ll watch the stormers game. I think I heard a commentator say they have sold out every game left in the season. Just have to get a few drunks to start the chanting to get the perfect atmosphere.

  2. Thanks a lot¡¡¡

Could you make a predictions of the Top14 from France?? It is a very important league

  3. Agreed except for Blues/Lions – the Blues must surely win at home against the Lions…?!

  4. I went for the underdog Lions too, but unfortunately they were terrible. The Blues were poor and still won by 22 points. It was difficult watching this game!
