Round 12 was a shocker for most people on Superbru, with the Kings beating the Sharks and the Force winning away at the Jaguares – only 6% and 2% respectively predicted those results. That said, no fewer than 66 people picked all 7 matches correctly, and one even scored Margin Points and scooped the weekly cash jackpot!
So it is possible, and with that positivity, we look ahead to our Super Rugby predictions for Round 13.
Chiefs v Crusaders
The Crusaders remain unbeaten this year, but this will be a very tough test, against a strong Chiefs side fresh from a bye. The ‘Saders defence will be key again, and having been reminded that the game is being played in Fiji, there’s no home advantage for the Chiefs. Very tough pick! Crusaders by 2.
Stormers v Blues
The Stormers are back on home soil after a nightmare tour of New Zealand, and have a much better chance of beating this week’s Kiwi opposition at Newlands. They are short of fly-halves, but I still think they’ll finally get a South African win against NZ opposition. Stormers by 8.
Hurricanes v Cheetahs
This is likely to be high-scoring and the final margin is anyone’s guess. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a scoreline of 64-38 or something equally silly. Hurricanes by 33.
Force v Highlanders
The Force picked up an unexpected win in Buenos Aires last weekend, but the Highlanders will likely beat them as they return from their travels. Highlanders by 16.
Sunwolves v Sharks
Beaten by the Kings last weekend, surely the Sharks can’t slip up against the competition’s other also rans? I suspect they’ll be ok. Sharks by 18.
Kings v Brumbies
The Kings have won three in a row! One or two injuries won’t help them though, and surely this run has to end soon. Brumbies by 8.
Lions v Bulls
This looks fairly straightforward, given the sorry season the Bulls are enduring. Lions by 18
Waratahs v Rebels
An Aussie derby to finish off the round. It has to be the Tahs. Waratahs by 16.
I disagree with Chiefs vs Crusaders selection, this game is being played in Fiji, not in Hamilton. Crusaders by 8
I agree! No home advantage for anyone
Ah thank you, I clocked it at the start of the season but missed it here. I will update, and I think I’ll pick Crusaders by 4.
Well if that is the case then I fancy the Crusaders
Thanks again, updated the article. Really could go either way that match, should be a good one!
Got your back Hutch!! Haha! Should be a great game!!
Sharks by that much, you sure? I think the Sunwolves coming off a bye and The Sharks having a few players out with injury it could be a very tough game. If anything Sunwolves might sneak a win
8 Chiefs wins in the last 10 encounters against the Crusaders. Should be close but I go with Chiefs by 4
Help : Stomers or Blues?
Tough call.
