  1. Thank god these gentlemen’s chosen professions are writing about the composition of the team rather than selecting it – Barkley and Waldouck are far too frail. The outcome of most world cup games in the knockout stages is based on defence. Just ask New Zealand.

  2. I certainly wouldn’t describe Barkley as frail, and I’d be happy with him at 12 in a defensive capacity.

And this Autumn is not the World Cup knockout stages, so you could argue that it’s an opportunity to try and develop centres that might be creative, rather than just to try and keep the score down.

Looks like Hape and Tindall will start though, so let’s hope we see some of Hape’s offloading game.

  3. The game is moving on – with the dramatic change n focus thanks to the rules is referencing a previous World cup really all that relevant?

As a Welsh man i am again and again amazed you overlook Barkley – a player who can make teh most of the fast ball that Youngs will be tasked with providing.
