The Rugby Blog Prediction League update

Five rounds of the Guinness Premiership have already been and gone, and the Top 10 in The Rugby Blog’s prediction league on SportGuru is regularly changing.

Our French friend, ‘estellem’ is currently leading the way as the only player to have predicted as many as 22 of the 25 match outcomes. ‘Uncle Mat’ – reigning champion from last year’s competition – is in second place, with ‘Penguin’ in third.

Saracens fans appear to be performing very well overall, occupying 4 of the top 10 places in The Rugby Blog league, and an incredible 7 of the top 10 on the Global Leaderboard. Whilst other people are expecting Saracens’ luck to run out, their fans are continuing to back them and they are being rewarded with victory after victory.

‘The Bard’ in 5th place deserves a mention for the lowest ‘Total Distance from Margin (TDM)’, which demonstrates how accurate he has been in predicting the winning margins of each game.

There’s still plenty of time to go of course, and positions are changing on a weekly basis at this early stage. There’s a break in the Guinness Premiership now for the start of the Heineken Cup and the Amlin Challenge Cup, but fear not – there is a prediction game for these competitions as well.

Heineken Cup – The Rugby Blog pool code is bodygoth
Amlin Challenge Cup – The Rugby Blog pool code is partjaws

Everyone is welcome to join, so feel free to pass on the code to anyone else. You can always set up your own league of course, and play in both.
