Tri-Nations predictions: South Africa by 10

The Wallabies face a most daunting task this weekend as they take on the World Champions in Cape Town, with the Boks on a roll following two convincing wins over New Zealand.

Robbie Deans has called his side a work in progress, and although they dominated the opening 20 minutes of the Tri-Nations game against the All Blacks in Auckland, they rolled over disappointingly when Nee Zealand finally applied some pressure.

Confidence is high in the South African camp after sending New Zealand home without a bonus point from two matches. Their set piece was vastly superior in those games, Heinrich Brussow appears to be grabbing his chance with both hands at flanker in Schalk Burger’s absence, and Morne Steyn is a metronomic weapon with his boot.

It wouldn’t be unlike Australia to pull off a shock victory, but I can’t predict anything but another South Africa win. I have selected South Africa by 10, and having been close on the first three Tri-Nations fixtures, I’m 78th out of nearly 34,000 players on SuperBru.
