The RFU has confirmed that Jonny Wilkinson will be out of action for four weeks, thanks to his latest shoulder injury.
After all of our debating about whether Wilkinson or Toby Flood should start for England, it appears that Johnno has had his mind made up for him.
Charlie Hodgson, who was initially called up as a precaution, will now remain with the squad for the Autumn Internationals.
England Team Manager Martin Johnson said: “As I said on Wednesday Jonny was being assessed day by day and we would have a better idea of where he was in terms of the injury by the end of this week. It’s clear that Jonny will need a period of rehab of around four weeks and this will be carried out in conjunction with Toulon. ”
Take a look at Stuart Peel’s article on the subject, which recommended that England opt for Flood anyway – all is not lost!
