Gallagher Premiership 2019/20: Round 2 Predictions

Gallagher Premiership

It was a tough start to the new Gallagher Premiership season on Superbru last weekend, with the community average score just 2.31 correct picks out of 6. Only 1 fixture was predicted by a majority (Exeter beating Harlequins), but everything else was an upset.

I managed 3 out of 6, and I’m hoping to improve on that this week.

Bath v Exeter
Bath were humbled by Bristol last Friday, conceding 43 points at Ashton Gate, and that’s not the sort of form you want to be taking into a match against Exeter. Exeter by 8

Northampton v Worcester
Both sides won against the odds last weekend, with the Saints’ victory away at Saracens the most impressive. I can’t see Worcester winning at Franklin’s Gardens. Northampton by 13

Gloucester v Wasps
Gloucester managed a rare away win at Sale last weekend, whilst Wasps were beaten by newcomers London Irish. Back at Kingsholm, the cherry and whites will be favourites. Gloucester by 9

Harlequins v Bristol
This should be an entertaining game at the Stoop, and Quins are usually tough to beat at home. Harlequins by 4

London Irish v Sale
I didn’t see either team play last weekend, so this is a bit of a shot in the dark. Sale’s away record is not particularly good, but I’m hesitant to get behind the newly-promoted Irish just yet. Sale by 2

Leicester v Saracens
This is a similar story, and I’m not quite ready to abandon the rule of thumb of always picking Sarries. Saracens by 6

Let me know what you think.
