European Challenge Cup 2018/19: Round 6 Predictions

Challenge Cup

It’s the climax of the Challenge Cup group stages this weekend, with most groups still to be decided.

Here are my predictions for Round 6 of the Challenge Cup.

Grenoble v Treviso
The Italians could potentially qualify for the next round, but given that both two teams have won their home games and lost their away games, I think Grenoble will take it. Grenoble by 7

Agen v Harlequins
It’s the same story in this fixture with only home wins so far. Can Quins break that trend? Harlequins by 4

Northampton v Timsoara Saracens
The Saints have picked a very young squad, but they should still have too much for their visitors. Northampton by 28

Dragons v Clermont Auvergne
Clermont have 25 points from a possible 25, and even though they are away from home, I think they’ll make it 30 from 30. Clermont by 18

Pau v Ospreys
Again, not an away win between them and I’ll stick with the home side. Pau by 5

Worcester v Stade
The Warriors have a chance of a home quarter-final if they can win this comfortably. Worcester by 8

Bordeaux v Connacht
Connacht need to win to ensure qualification, given that Sale will beat Perpignan at home. I think they can do it as the French won’t be too interested. Connacht by 6

Sale v Perpignan
Sale will beat Perpignan at home and ensure qualification. Sale by 23

Zebre v La Rochelle
They are away from home, but having beaten them by 20 points last week, you’d think La Rochelle can overcome the Zebre in Italy. La Rochelle by 8

Bristol v Einsei-STM
A 65-9 win away from home last week and another big win this week should give Bristol even more confidence in the league. Bristol by 48
