Johnson on discipline: “If they don’t understand it now, they never will”

Martin Johnson, the man who oversaw England’s ill-fated 2011 World Cup campaign, thinks some of the players still haven’t learnt their lessons from that debacle in terms of their discipline.

He spoke to Rugby Media at today’s launch of the RWC ticket design at Twickenham:

  1. I love Johno, I really do, but come on. This a man who missed the 2001 6n due to a ban for serious foul play. He was 31. Had been an international player for 8 years and England captain for 2. However he did manage to control his demons when it mattered most. I kind of don’t disagree with him on principle, but think he’s being a bit hypocritical considering his own past indiscretions.
