Graham Rowntree, in his inimitably deadpan style, yesterday joked that Sam Burgess is “too good looking to play in the forwards”. But after switching to his serious face, he admitted that the coaching staff had yet to make a definitive decision on where the Bath hybrid fitted into their plans exactly.
“We’ve not made out mind up, as of yet,” said Rowntree of which position they would be considering Burgess for. “We’re doing generic rugby skills work at the moment, so we won’t make that decision for a few weeks’ time.”
Check out the rest of what ‘Wig’ had to say about Burgess in the video below, as well as his thoughts on England’s hooking reserves:

As you know by now, we are hilarious, and you should be following us on Facebook and Twitter.
Sam Burgess is a terrific sportsman. I just feel that he is too much the tyro to be seriously considered for the World Cup squad.
He’s young enough to make a serious contribution in 2019 and will be fully acclimatised to the union game. Cut him free now SL so that he can give of his best then. Bring in Ewers and Daly.
Let Slammin go and really get to grips with the code and nail down a position and you will have a hell of a player on your hands.
