  1. To the bench with Mike Phillips not helping his Lions credentials too much after his fall out with Bayonne.Probably a kick up the pants for him though as I expect him to start later on in the Autumn series against the big two assuming he is available for the Australian game that is.

Priestland is possibly lucky not to be keeping the bench warm with Phillips based on form but when he plays well he does suit this Welsh teams gameplan better than any other outside half provided Halfpenny takes the placekicks .Biggar who has played well for the Ospreys left out of the squad in favour of Hook who is more unpredictable but who can add something if the game starts breaking up in the final quarter (as can Tipuric ).

Jon Davies and Ashley Beck being injured the rest of the back-line picks itself.

Trial by fire for Aaron Jarvis in the front row for his first cap against and Argentinian scrum .I would have liked to see Hibbard packing down beside him based on form . Wales need to get the set piece basics right against a battle hardened Argentinian team subject to that there is enough firepower behind to do the job.

  2. Seems a pretty strong team. Its funny with all the injury reports I was expecting a far weaker team. I hope I feel the same way when the England team is selected! although i’m now of the view that injuries should not necessarily be viewed as a wholly negative thing. It gives opportunities to other (hopefully young up and coming) players to stake a claim and create more squad depth. Jones and Lydiate are of course big losses, as is Hartley for England, but teams need to find suitable back ups, and the squad will be better for it in the long term.

  3. I wonder how not starting for his club will affect the form of Jenkins. I doubt it will have much impact as the man is pure class. PersonallyIi can’t believe Sheridan is starting over Jenkins(and i’m English).

  4. I think everyone forget how good a fit and in form Sheridan is. Especially after his poor run of injuries these last few seasons. Is there a better loose head scrummager at the moment? Based on what he’s been doing at Toulon i doubt that.
Tipuric must be asking the gods how well he has to play to get a chance. Warburton brings leadership but tipuric has been omnipresent at the breakdown for ospreys this season. Would have him ahead of Warburton and my captain as Ian Evans.

  5. I completely agree with what James has said. Sheridan is in excellent form, he is outplaying Jenkins completely, which does not mean to say that Jenkins is even particularly out of form.

And again I agree to Tipuric, what else can he do? I would give him a chance again, although AWJ would be my captain and not Evans.

  6. Howley will always baffle me with his selections – lovely guy but not the brightest of guys – Priestland really, again – madness. Sam ahead of Tupric – madness – am i the only one who thinks Paul James should be tight head against one of the strongest packs in world rugby. Sending the wrong signs out again Mr Howley – play poorly Sam, Rhys it’s ok i will still pick you : ( will be a long season.

    1. have to agree with most of what you say, i really dont understand how hook has missed out again, i feel sorry for the guy, he is class without doubt and deserves another chance on form alone , and as amathus says,”no shingler?” what was all the fuss about if hes not in the squad ?

    1. Not sure that I would back the Argies in this one, as I think that Wales have too much firepower and they are at home, but I reckon it could be tight until the last 15/20 minutes, and Wales could struggle in the scrum.

  7. Preistland ! Wtf howley. Biggar is the inform 10. I see your point about tiperic but will need him more against new Zealand and Australia. It’s a tough 4 weeks guys and Paul James is the man. Wales to win narrowly.

    1. “I agree Dan Bigger is the man inform for the position of ten,he is far more polished then Preistland as he makes some bad mistakes in International games,Wales cannot afford this, hopefully we will see more of Dan Bigger included in the team and less of Preistland,i just hope he plays and not make those silly mistakes of pastgames as it will cost us the match”

Il semblerait que les aretbris frane7ais n’aient pas l’exclusivite9 des critiques : Mas conteste quant e0 lui, la qualite9 de l’arbitrage du re9fe9re9e irlandais !Nous allons mettre cette analyse sur le compte de la de9ception et du manque de recul, car si le pilier de l’e9quipe de France n’a pas percute9 sur la diffe9rence qu’il y avait entre son e9quipe (certains joueurs de son e9quipe en tous les cas, car Plante9 a e9te9 exemplaire) et celle de Northampton, il y a du souci e0 se faire pour le Mondial !Cette aptitude e0 s’en prendre au directeur de jeu quasi-syste9matiquement (en cas de de9faite bien sfbr) est un parame8tre inhe9rent e0 la culture latine et c’est vraiment pe9nible: c’est un latin qui vous le dit !J’espe8re pour l’esprit et la beaute9 du jeu que l’e9quipe de France se doit de de9velopper en Nouvelle Ze9lande, des joueurs comme Clerc, Fritz, N’yanga, Plante9, Me9dard et Servat pour ne citer qu’eux, seront se9lectionne9s et que les Skre9la (d’une indigence rare en de9fense samedi dernier) et Marty resteront e0 la maison. Placerons-nous en attaque des avants qui font e9chouer re9gulie8rement les offensives en commettant des en-avant ou en effectuant des passes de mae7on ?Sectionnerons-nous Arias pour eatre de9finitivement tout feu tout flamme ?Voici livre9es tout e0 trac quelques questions qui m’ont traverse9 l’esprit en regardant les 3 jolis matchs qui e9taient te9le9vise9s ce week-end sur nos e9tranges lucarnes .
