Aviva Premiership Rugby 2012/13: Predicted Final Table

Aviva Premiership Teams

[two_third]Here is our predicted table for this season – what do you think?

We expect the Final to be contested by the same two teams as last season, and we can see Leicester just getting back to winning ways and avenging last season’s loss.

We’re expecting the same Top 4 as last season, with Sale Sharks and Gloucester making up the Heineken Cup places.

Do you disagree? Which teams do you think will surprise us this season and do better or worse than predicted?

  1. As much as I don’t like to say so, I can’t see beyond Welsh for relegation. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Wasps struggle again, I’d say Wasps in 11th. And I think that Exeter may be able to consolidate a Heineken Cup spot again this season. I’d say:

    1. Leicester
    2. Quins
    3. Sarries
    4. Northampton
    5. Gloucester
    6. Exeter
    7. Sale
    8. Irish
    9. Bath
    10. Worcester
    11. Wasps
    12. Welsh

  2. 1. Leicester
    2. Quins
    3. Sarries
    4. Northampton
    5. Gloucester
    6. Exeter
    7. Sale.
    8. Welsh
    9. Irish.
    10 Bath
    11 Worcester
    12 Wasps

    1. Welsh up in 8th! Punchy, but I’d love to see it happen.

I think Wasps will be a lot more competitive this season – still a few off-field issues, but there’s plenty of experience in the squad now. They turned over Sarries in the Double Header last year, and wonder if they’ll do the same to this year’s reigning champions.

  3. Wasps only struggled as bad as they did because of a freak run of injuries. Add to that the return of Haskell and Palmer as well as new signings Johnson and Jones they should be good to come in around 8/9/10th.

  4. Don’t agree with that – i reckon it’ll be something like:
    1. Harlequins
    2. London Irish
    3. Leicester
    4. Exeter – Close enough last year for 4th place
    5. Northampton
    6. Saracens
    7. Gloucester
    8. Sale
    9. Bath
    10. London Wasps
    11. Worcester
    12. London Welsh

  5. Rich having London Irish up there I think is madness! I think they will struggle this year! I also think that Exeter over-acheived last year so the squad they have and will therefore finish lower this year.

I also predict that Sale will be strong this year. I found it difficult to pick between them and Saints for the fourth spot. An on form Cipriani could be the difference!

    1. Leicester
    2. Saracens
    3. Harlequins
    4. Sale
    5. Northampton
    6. Gloucester
    7. Wasps
    8. Bath
    9. Exeter
    10. Worcester
    11. London Irish
    12. London Welsh

  6. 1. Leicester
    2. Quins
    3. Sarries
    4. Northampton
    5. Sale
    6. Exeter
    7. Gloucester
    8. Wasps
    9. Bath
    10. Irish
    11. Worcester
    12. Welsh

I can see the final HC cup spot going down to last game of the season.

    1. Just checked to see how I did with predictions for the year. Scoring 0 points for a correct place prediction, and one point for each place I am out per team gives me 16 points. Just Sale as the major blemish, I’ll try for better next year.

  7. I still think that Gloucester could be the surprise package this year (but then I would say that!). New coaching team, underachievers last year (especially away from home) and a backline that just could be the envy of everyone. Having said that, I don’t think that we’ve got the pack to challenge for top honours but a top 4 finish is definitely on the cards.

    7. Exeter
