  1. Unfortunately I haven’t got time whilst at work but this should enable the 22 and the XV for the game on Saturday to be worked out pretty well. Bit concerned that Olly Barkley is starting this one. I just hope this doesn’t mean he won’t play Sat.

  2. I thought the same thing – initial excitement at some of the names, followed by disappointment that they probably won’t play on Saturday.

It looks like we’ll have Tom Palmer and Shawsy in the row, and possibly Shontayne Hape at 12 instead of Barkley.

Hopefully some of these boys can prove their worth to Johnno and push for Test selection – Parling, Attwood, Robshaw, Ward-Smith, Barkley, and Lawes and Waldouck if they get on.

  3. One more thing on DWS – he STILL won’t get an England cap, even though this will be his second appearance in the white shirt.

  4. I had a bit of time during tea break…

So based on this and the squad I’m guessing this line-up for the test

    1. Payne
    2. Thompson
    3. Cole
    4. Shaw
    5. Palmer
    6. Haskell
    7. Moody
    8. Easter
    9. Care
    10. Flood
    11. Ashton
    12. Hape
    13. Tindall
    14. Cueto
    15. Foden

I’m hoping that Golding will actually play instead of Payne and if this is the case, I’m not sure how Hape is starting for England instead of Olly Barkley when it is clearly the other way round at Bath. All speculation of course. Other than that, not bad line-up. I do love a Borthers free squad.

  5. Think Kemlo’s assessment of the test 15 may be right (though I have a feeling Ashton may not be included), and the bench looking something like this:

    16. Mears
    17. Golding
    18. Wilson
    19. Attwood or Lawes
    20. Croft
    21. Youngs
    22. Wilko or Barkley
    23. Tait

Does anyone know if tomorrows game is being shown on tv? If so, what channel?

Nice to see Johnno trying other players, but as previously mentioned, I’m in agreement that it means they are most likely on tour simply to play the mid week games, and not be included in the tests

  6. That looks about right Kem, although I hope Golding starts over Payne.

I don’t think the game is on TV unfortunately, although we might be able to find it streamed online somewhere. I’ll check Ustream or Justin.tv

  7. So… A draw. I expected more out of our England side. Some people on that pitch that should already be on the plane back to England. Namely, Charlie Hodgson. When is somebody going to tell this guy he is weak, and it is over. The second a young gun comes on, ie Geraghty, the game comes alive again. I thought England were meant to be raising the young talent? All I can see is some very rusty old zimmerframes on that pitch.

Scrum Half paul Hodgson was great, and hand in hand with Geraghty, we showed an exciting brand of English rugby. Shame the decision makers can’t see it… Watch this space, Johno!

  8. Thought Robshaw and DWS both had good games, though no one else seemed to inspire. We were lucky to get the draw, though it is interesting how Australian Barbarians are meant to be a strong team, yet we still got a draw after a very poor performance. If only we could realise I potential!!!
