Tom May, David Wilson and Matt Banahan will all make their full England Test debuts against Argentina this Saturday at Old Trafford.
Tom May – Newcastle’s perennial second man behind a certain Mr Wilkinson – will make his long awaited England debut in the 12 shirt against Argentina at Old Trafford. May’s blistering form for Newcastle, coupled with his impact during the Barbarians match was enough to convince Martin Johnson to give the Toulon bound centre his first cap.
Along with May, Matt Banahan and David Wilson will also be earning their stripes against the Pumas. Banahan’s superbly taken second half try from Andy Goode’s cross field kick is an attacking ploy England will be looking to repeat as they seek to take advantage of his 6ft 7in frame.
Prop David Wilson, who will be moving from Newcastle to Bath in the close season, will have a baptism of fire against the tough scrummaging Argentinian front row.
Elsewhere the Armitage brothers are reunited in England colours; James Haskell earns a recall at the expense of Chris Robshaw, and Mark Cueto takes over from Ben Foden on the wing.
Will England have enough to put away the Pumas in the first of their two test series?
