  1. If Tuilagi gets a good head of steam up I think they will be a couple of Gone-zalos in the middle of the field.

Thought they might have moved Massi into 13 for his physicality and because he’s been brilliant there for Wasps.

  2. They only have two backs on the bench! Favaro is a flanker. Barritt and Tuilagi need to run at Orquera as they have no FH cover. This could spell disaster for Italy…………….but it would be great for us!!

    1. Luke McClean used to play 10 for Italy didn’t he? Quite how you go from fly-half to winger I’m not sure, but pretty sure he can do a job there. Kris Burton is not the future of Italian rugby, so I’m glad he’s not in the squad.

      1. McLean did. Similarly, Botes was picked at 10 for his first few games for Italy. I believe masi may also have played a bit at 10.

Also, this is the first game where Brunel has chosen to have only 2 backs on the bench. I think he may be showing how he expects the game to go, or at least how he plans to try and win. He has replacements for his entire tight 5 if he needs to replace them, as I believe that minto plays lock or flanker.

  3. Thought Lo cicero has been struggling a bit so not surprised he is on the bench.

6:2 split on the bench. How does that tell you they are going to play!
