Each week, we’ll be doing a quick round up of performances in The Rugby Blog’s prediction leagues on SuperBru – although if Hutch continues to languish near the bottom, this feature might not be so frequent.
Aviva Premiership: Round 1
Our old friend Ben Cook, aka Nebbie69, tops the league with 10 points after Round 1, with an impressive 6 out of 6. The Saints fan also picked up Margin Points in 4 of the 6 matches, but I don’t think many people had Exeter by 37 or Sarries by 32.
Champagain, Churchy and Flash are close behind with 9.75, and there are a raft of others on 9.5 below.
Resident predictor Jamie Hosie did well with 5 from 6, but wasn’t quite as accurate with the margins and doesn’t even make the top 100. Hutch, meanwhile, is down in 279th after picking Sale to beat Exeter, Worcester to beat Bath and Gloucester to beat Saints.
There’s a long way to go though…our league is here if you haven’t joined.
RaboDirect Pro12: Round 1
Haydn Davies leads the Pro12 pool, out on his own with an impressive 10.25 points thanks to 6 correct picks and 4 Margin Points as well.
Grizzly, Duppie and Scarlet are not far behind on 10 points, and only 6 people out of nearly 300 accurately predicted all 6 results. Treviso beating the Ospreys and the Scarlets thrashing Leinster were the two games that caught most people out.
Of course, there is all still to play for as it’s such a LONG season, so we’ll keep an eye on how these early leaders perform over the coming weeks.
You can join our Pro12 league here if you haven’t already.
