Rugby Championship 2016: Round 5 Predictions

RugbyThe Rugby Championship resumes with the All Blacks in Argentina, and the Springboks hosting the Wallabies at Loftus.

South Africa v Australia

I have shown far too much faith in the Springboks so far this season, and my patience is wearing a little thin. But, the Springboks at Loftus, against an unconvincing Wallabies side?

The Boks seem to be reverting to type, ejecting the ambitious Elton Jantjies from the squad and installing Morne Steyn at 10. Allister Coetzee is clearly feeling the pressure to get results over developing for the future, and only one Lions player in the starting XV tells a story.

But, they won’t let me down this time will they?

My Prediction: SOUTH AFRICA to beat Australia by 6

The average SuperBru pick is South Africa by 3.21, and Paddy Power has SA by 3.

Argentina v New Zealand

The All Blacks have made a few changes for this match, with the Championship already in the bag, but you hardly notice the new names, such is their depth in every area.

Again, it’s all about the margin. Their winning margins in the first four games are 34, 20, 35, 28, so you’d expect it to be over 20.

My Prediction: NEW ZEALAND to beat Argentina by 23

The average SuperBru pick is New Zealand by 20.66, and Paddy Power has New Zealand by 20.
