Aviva Premiership 2016/17: Round 18 Predictions

Aviva Rugby

Bristol v Gloucester
Having lost to Worcester, Bristol knows it is running out of time to avoid relegation. With Exeter (a), Wasps (h), Saracens (a) and Newcastle (h) still to come, this is one they really need to win. With that motivation, and Gloucester in disarray, I’m backing them for a win. Bristol by 2.

Harlequins v Newcastle
Quins don’t lose many at home, Newcastle don’t lose many away, and the home team has won this fixture since 2013. Harlequins by 13.

Northampton v Leicester
Lots of changes going on at the Tigers, with another mid-season coaching change, and I fancy the resurgent Saints to edge this one. Northampton by 4.

Exeter v Sale
This looks pretty straightforward as the Chiefs continue their march to the playoffs. Exeter by 16.

Wasps v Worcester
I can’t see Worcester winning this, and it isn’t a match in which they’ll realistically expect any league points, focusing instead on easier games ahead. Wasps by 23.

Saracens v Bath

I’m writing this before I know whether Messrs Ford and Farrell are involved, but either way, Sarries should win this to avoid dropping out of the top two in the table. Saracens by 13.
