    1. I suppose it depends on what you rank higher. Individualism or Team as well I suppose. I think the best team try on the list is Leicester’s. But for Individualism it has to be Thacker’s and at 5 Foot 8, he is even smaller than me so I had to give it to him ;)

    2. It certainly has some of the hall marks, namely a left handed, two defenders nullified cut out pass from Thacker that Carter would nod and smile at and a sumptuous offload from Tuilagi that took out another two defenders. Numbers for numbers, there’s no way Leicester should be able to run in that try at such a canter. The only problem for me is the distance, had it started on Tigers own 22 and gone through those hands I don’t think anyone would argue. From where it was it’s easy to see it as just a perfectly executed attacking lineout.
For me it’s between Thacker and James. I love seeing a winger recollect a perfectly weighted chip over the last defender. To get both the timing and touch in that goldilocks zone whilst sprinting down the touchline is an incredibly hard skill.

  1. Definitely been better tries scored. None from Exeter or wasps, the two highest scoring teams in the prem. Unlikely one of theirs wasn’t a contender.

  2. How do the three highest scoring teams in the premiership not have any tries on this list!?

    1. To be fair, just because they scored the most tries, doesn’t mean they necessarily scored one of the 6 best. No one is disputing that they were the best 3 teams, but that’s what the league table is for!

It is strange though – I wonder if the panel that decides this actually goes back and watches every single try scored this season, or if they just chuck a few out there at random. I do find it very hard to believe that none of the top 3 have scored a try better than a couple above.

      1. It does seem a little odd Jamie? Having scored more tries you would assume that some of them would be top drawer!!

  3. Always think that any long-range try from a member of the front row should automatically appear on these lists, so sad not to see Sinckler’s effort there.

Agree for individuality it’s Thacker. Brilliant pass from him in the other Leicester try as well.

Chisholm for me on the team front though. It has everything – started from their own 22, Roberts busting the line, a cracking pass from Mike Brown and sheer pace from Chisholm

  4. Although I love seeing a hooker run one in from halfway i don’t agree its the best try.
Maybe it’s bias but I rate the work of Mallinder in the build up to Pisi’s try
