Intense match. Well done both teams. Aussies immense in defence with only 13. Welsh must be a bit disappointed not to have scored in those ten minutes. May come to rue that.
Held up 3 times I think can’t fault the lads Aussie defence was immense. Though we would get it but wasn’t to be. Oh well well just have to follow in Japan’s footsteps and beat SA

Second 9 of the day. Yet another compelling test where both teams threw the kitchen sink at each other…bodes well for the actual knockout phases…and agree Harlequin this was a level above Lancaster’s England
Very good game, thought Wales could have broken through but Aussie defense was outstanding. This result and England’s shows how poor the decision not to take the draw was. Best wishes to Wales, going to be a tough game.
waiting for Brighty to comment but best game was at St James Park where a very good Samoa tested Scotland all the way, Aussies were so comfortable even with 13 men. Wales dream is over as Boks will smash warrenball to bits. For me a game such as Samoa, Fiji, Japan try to play wins every time.

Don’t let one fellow’s comments assist your opinion on a side mate. Though Wales’ sentiments toward the English (and vice versa) couldn’t be called ‘amicable’ at the best of times. Of the Wales game, I applaud the courage of the Welsh, given the WC hand dealt, they can’t help but make this Englishman feel jealous of the heart shown. That said, I feel the resolve of the Aussies during that period of 13 men was simply spectacular. To hold out a side of Wales’ calibre shorn of a forward and a back is nothing short of inspirational, and again makes me jealous of the heart shown by a team under the cosh. It saddens me when I see the hatred of Wales via a vi the English and likewise. Personally, despite my team being bystanders, would love to see a NH side lift the trophy. Home nations preferably, but certainly, this has been a spectacle to behold thus far.

I thought we fought hard in that game. Didn’t execute as well as we should have but could not fault the effort. commitment and defensive skill levels. Kept Australia try less which is something. Should have scored. Onwards to SA where I think our approach to injury ridden rugby will do ok.
Screw your courage to the sticking post my friend. Up the Wales, Ireland and Scotland. Sorry we couldn’t be there with you to put the SH to the sword.
Wales lacked a bit of nous where it counted keep the ball in the scrum when you are marching a 7 man scrum back over the line also if North had gone straight for the corner he had one man to run over rather than two by cutting inside .Awesome Australian defence and they deserved it for a big game attitude .
Great game. We gave Aus a proper match and kept it tight for so long. Proper test match. Should have scored in that period when down to 13 but Aus defence was amazing. Showed what can happen when you put an Aus defence under pressure.
Great effort but thought Wales should have taken the points after third penalty and then look to take advantage in open play against 13 men, feel the gaps would have opened up for Wales. But great test rugby and great defence by both teams. Would have been interesting to have a full team out there today.

I’ve watched the North break a number of times. I still can’t see why he came inside. Lacking in confidence? I feel North 18 months ago would have smashed that. Still your in the quarters, so we’ll done. SA will be tough, but not impossible.
I thought the same thing I figure maybe he planned to offload but got closer so tried to muscle through.
