  1. Beale really didn’t impress last week, though conditions weren’t on his side. Think he’d be much better off at 12, occasionally coming in as first receiver, and someone with a better flyhalf game at 10. Any news on the ABs injuries?

  2. Kaino and Nonu confirmed out of the NZ test side. The most concerning thing about Link’s selection is going with White at 9 again, I thought he was the major weak link of the Wallabies side from Sydney. Phipps is much better. On the other hand, White’s greatest problem was his kicking, and if the weather is an improvement this weekend it may not matter as much.

  3. Agree about Beale. Think he’s alright @ 1st 5, but he’s more naturally suited to centre. Should have stuck with Foley. Can’t do his confidence much good to be out. Done nuthin’ wrong.

Horwell too seems to be on the outer now? Unless he’s injured? Also the fr row or Robinson, Moore & Alexander seems a thing of the past; altho Moore is injured I think.

And new wings. Seems all change, altho maybe more of a shuffle in some cases.

Still can’t believe Genia is finished tho. Is he?

Interesting to see if they get stuck into the ABs early again with their up tempo, quick ball game.

    1. Genia and Moore are both injured. Both will be back when fit so it isn’t all change, it’s an injury list. Cooper is the same.

  4. Moore is seriously injured, crocked his leg against France. TPN got broken in the super rugby final I believe, or the semi. Leaving Aus with an almost untested hooker, who actually did fairly well. I like the dog that Moore brings, but their front row is looking the best it has for some time.

Horwill is a big guy, but not very effective, he’s been dropped, and not due to injury I believe. They still don’t have particularly noteworthy locks, that is until Skelton develops a bigger engine, then the world is in trouble.

Speight was injured in the s15 final I believe, or again, the semi, and they have JOC potentially coming in on the wing too (thought that’s not for now). Genia I think is out of form, maybe injured. Anyone in the 10 shirt at the moment is basically just keeping it warm for Cooper. Amusingly with Cooper they don’t need such a maverick as Beale at 12, and may prefer the bigger Toouma, which would then free Beale up to perhaps go 15, and Folau on the wing (he still needs to improve his positioning).

  5. Jacob

Ok, but Genia isn’t 1st choice any more…? Dunno why. Maybe needs coaches backing for confidence?

Horwill was Capt not so long ago for an ineffective guy tho. Also didn’t Q’land win the S15 with him? Foley is a better, controlling 1st 5 methinks. Beale better in centres, but to chuck Toomua out? Folau also needs to improve his (non) fend, altho I think they can use him better @ fb. Kurindrani also injured?
